Problem

In 2024, Edacy, a leading platform dedicated to bridging the gap between academic qualifications and job market demands, sought to enhance the employability of highly qualified graduates. The platform offers innovative post-collegiate skills-to-job education programs that enable graduates to acquire essential technical, professional, and career skills through a combination of on-the-job training and online resources. Upon completing the program, participants earn industry-recognized certifications and secure employment in rapidly expanding companies worldwide. The challenge was to effectively equip 1000 Nigerian youths with advanced communication skills to better align them with the expectations of global employers.

Approach

In June 2024, we formed a strategic partnership with Edacy to deliver a comprehensive training programme focused on communication skills for 1000 Nigerian youths. This initiative was designed to address the specific needs of graduates by enhancing their communication abilities, thereby improving their chances of securing meaningful employment in competitive job markets. The programme's approach was meticulously structured, beginning with a series of initial virtual meetings aimed at understanding the project’s scope, objectives, and Edacy’s operational framework. Following these discussions, we developed and submitted detailed course presentations that aligned with Edacy’s educational standards. After a thorough review process, the courses were approved, with necessary adjustments made to ensure they met the desired outcomes. The project terms, including financial aspects and the mode of payment, were agreed upon, and a clear timeline was established. The training sessions were then delivered over a one-week period, with a strong emphasis on interactive learning and real-world application.

Key Features of the Program

Result

The training programme was highly successful, characterized by active participation from all attendees. Participants engaged in insightful discussions, asked relevant questions, and provided positive feedback on the course content and delivery. Additionally, group discussions allowed participants to outline their next steps, demonstrating their commitment to applying the skills learned in real-world scenarios. The positive outcomes of the training underscored the effectiveness of the partnership with Edacy, contributing to the overall mission of bridging the gap between academic achievements and job market readiness.
