Problem

The Chartered Institute of Mentoring & Coaching, Nigeria (CIMCN) faced a critical need for a well-structured committee to lead the organization of several high-profile events. Among these events, the most prominent was the institute’s 12th Annual National Conference, titled "Harnessing Mentoring for Good Governance and Building Sustainable Path to Economic Growth." The success of this event was crucial, as it would not only highlight the institute's commitment to human capital development but also play a pivotal role in influencing public discourse on governance and economic sustainability in Nigeria.

Approach

To address this need, a specialized sub-team, named STAR (Strategic Think Tank And Resources), was formed. We served as the Team Lead. The STAR team was tasked with the comprehensive planning and execution of the conference. This team, under our leadership, was responsible for brainstorming, strategic planning, and meticulous organization of the event. The team was composed of skilled professionals who brought diverse perspectives and expertise to the table, ensuring that every aspect of the conference was covered.

Key Features of the Program

Result

The 12th Annual National Conference was an outstanding success, surpassing expectations and earning commendations from both attendees and the institute’s leadership. Each member of the STAR sub-team was recognized with a STAR award, a testament to the exceptional teamwork and dedication exhibited. The Director General also expressed his deep satisfaction with the team’s performance, further solidifying trust and confidence in the team’s abilities to lead future initiatives. The event not only achieved its objectives but also strengthened CIMCN’s reputation as a leader in human capital development and thought leadership in Nigeria.
